This is a cultural case study. What is a cultural case study? As with all case studies, a case study describes a problem stuation and gives possible solutions. There are key components for a good case study, and there are specifics for this one. The grading criteria and guidelines are noted on the syllabus.
Note: 1. This is not a research paper. Do not put "running head" on your pages. 2. This is not a flowery essay. Don’t include "filler" sentences. 3. Use APA style for citations and references.
Some of the key components of a case study: 1. Summary: Your summary is first and should be no more than 4-5 sentences that contain the essence of the case. A summary is not a book report. It does not tell each part of a story. Instead, you capture the essence of the story in a concise manner.
For example: "Richard Smith, a 27 year old Yonalandan, was injured by rock throwers because he refused to honor new marital laws. Yonalanda is a small island nation with a long history of polyandry, a practice that has been abolished and noted in the global media. A key historical event occurred when the parliament passed the new law limiting number of spouses to one. Richard Smith was described as enraged by the new law."
