Leadership
Paper instructions:
The assessment for this module consists of two parts:
Leadership and Change will be assessed by your performance on two Individual Coursework Assignments (50% of the module assessment each). Full details of these assignments are given below.
Your Module Tutor will be pleased to give you individual guidance and advice on these assignments.
Individual Assignment Part 1 50% of the module assessment
You are required to write a management report. Your report should be a maximum of 1500 words in length. Penalties may apply to exceeding the word count.
You are required to:
Critically reflect on your own effectiveness as a leader.
Produce recommendations for your own personal leadership development.
The reflection and recommendations should focus on 1 or 2 broad aspects of leadership (see the content list for the module as a guide to the various possibilities). Your reflection should ideally focus on current leadership experience and/or that of the recent past (i.e. the last 2 years).
Important Considerations
Although the report will contain elements of description to outline the circumstances, the emphasis should be on critical evaluation of your leadership.
You should use relevant classical and contemporary leadership, reviewed during the course of the Module MOD001100 as a focus for your analysis.
For Part 1, you should, where possible, seek to produce evidence to support your points.
The range of acceptable evidence might include:
Primary research: interviews, questionnaires, written feedback from colleagues etc. (where applicable)
Secondary research: reflective exercises, evaluation forms, appraisal reports etc.
Evidence may be placed in appendices to the main report.
