Celebrations

Use William E. Paden’s Religious Worlds Chapter 5, Ritual and Time as the basis for the assignment. You will look at New year’s celebrations: Celtic, Chinese and the Muslim festival of breaking bread (Id al Fitr) that follows Ramadan.
There are many more examples that can be cited – feel free to identify others.

The point of comparison is: "What do these festivals have in common? What is being done in and by them?"
