Each student will be responsible for writing reaction papers, approximately 600 words in length. This papers, worth 10 points each, will be “reacting” to a current relevant scholarly article (from the text) that analyzes an international economic, cultural, or environmental issue, with a regional, or country specific focus. The scholarly article must contain some form of empirical analysis for you to react to as well. Students are expected to draw upon class lectures, the text, and class discussion to create a theoretical lens for analysis and the written reaction. Though these analysis reaction papers are short and to the point, they are expected to be of a high intellectual and grammatical quality.

The Reaction Papers must include the following for full credit: (10 points).

• Brief review of scholarly case study article with regional or country specific focus: (1 point).

• Review of article’s Empirical Analysis: (2 points).

• Review of article’s Conclusions: (1 point).

• Your “reaction” and conclusions to article and international issue with regional or country specific focus: (4 points).

• Map of region or country under analysis: (2 points).
